Production Support Engineer
Location: London Our client is a global multi‑strategy investment firm known for its world‑class technology organisation and high‑performance trading environment. They are seeking a Production Support Engineer to join their core platform engineering and support team. This role is ideal for someone with strong Linux fundamentals, deep troubleshooting experience, and a passion for automation, reliability, and high‑impact engineering work.
You will support and enhance a range of mission‑critical trading, research, and compute platforms, working closely with infrastructure, networking, application, and development teams. The role blends operational support with engineering ownership – perfect for someone who thrives in complex technical environments and enjoys solving problems at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and troubleshoot Linux-based trading and research platforms in a fast‑paced, high‑availability environment.
- Build and improve automation, tooling, and operational workflows using Bash/Python.
- Own and resolve infrastructure issues across Linux, networking, and virtualised environments.
- Drive root‑cause analysis and long‑term fixes for high‑impact incidents.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance monitoring, observability, and platform reliability.
Key Requirements
- Strong experience with Linux systems administration (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky).
- Hands‑on exposure to Bash scripting, automation, and server provisioning.
- Solid understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Comfort troubleshooting production environments and handling escalations.
- Proactive, curious, and excited by solving infrastructure problems at scale.
