The Role: The Price Reporter for EMEA Metals Markets is a market reporter based in London who takes responsibility for day-to-day reporting on metals markets for Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights in the Europe Middle East and Africa region.
The Team: This is an outstanding opportunity to join the world\’s leading price reporting organization as it strengthens and grows its presence across the European metals supply chain. Customers in over 150 countries look to our expertise in pricing, news and analytics to deliver greater transparency and efficiency to markets. The EMEA metals pricing team is a dynamic team responsible for key pricing benchmarks across the region. The price reporter will work with colleagues in London and globally, in an often fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities & Impact
- We are seeking a market reporter to drive metals pricing coverage in Europe. The successful candidate will be part of a global team and possess knowledge of market intelligence-gathering activities and assessing prices, applying Platts methodology. This individual must be comfortable writing about pricing information and interpreting data. Being a team player is of utmost importance in this role.
- Assess markets: the market reporter assesses the value of metals market products in EMEA, accurately and fully in line with our methodology. Survey market participants, publish price updates throughout the day, demonstrate understanding of Platts\’ methodology; use mathematics and Excel; may launch new assessments and represent Platts at industry events.
- Write high-quality market commentaries: produce commentaries to help readers understand market developments and how assessments were derived, meeting editorial standards.
- Report news about the markets: report news and analysis, generate ideas for graphics, podcasts, webinars. Cover topics such as supply and demand, data releases, regulations, trade flows, price trends, decarbonization and energy transition. Work with the news desk and managers to write insightful stories.
- Engage with the industry: develop and maintain market sources, update source lists, and share meeting summaries with colleagues while managing communications channels.
- Team player: collaborate with colleagues across global offices (e.g., Singapore, Houston, New York) as regional metals markets are influenced by global activity.
Impact
The successful candidate will report on and shape coverage of key EMEA metals markets that underpin the region\’s industrial activity amid volatile global trade policy and evolving environmental regulation.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in price reporting
- Understanding of physical metal markets
- Fluency in written and spoken Turkish or other European languages is an advantage
- Bachelor\’s degree in journalism, economics or business preferred
- Strong numeracy skills including basic algebra and statistics and ability to apply math functions in MS Excel
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in English
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of roles and personalities
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines and work in a team environment
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
