The Price Reporter (Associate Editor) for EMEA Freight Markets reports on shipping and freight markets in the Western hemisphere, providing market data, analysis, and commentary to help readers understand market developments.

Responsibilities

  • Assess freight markets: Surveys market participants throughout the day; publishes price updates; demonstrates a thorough understanding of S&P Global Energy’s methodology; uses mathematics and Excel spreadsheets rigorously and can perform a full set of assessments without aid of a spreadsheet.
  • Write high‑quality market commentaries: Prepares commentaries linked to assessments, helping readers understand both the market dynamics and the methodology behind the assessments.
  • Report news about the markets: Communicates news and publishes analysis on supply and demand developments, government data, regulatory changes, trader movements, general price trend analysis and other relevant topics.
  • Engage with the industry: Engages with market sources around the region; finds and nurtures new sources; maintains relationships with existing sources; keeps source lists updated.
