Platform Services Specialist – Global Investment Management Oxford Knight London, United Kingdom Position Overview: The Platform Specialist position requires a highly proficient individual with a strong technical background in delivering mission-critical infrastructure, utilizing DevOps methodology. The ideal candidate will be responsible for project delivery, escalation support, capacity management, and documentation for the platform infrastructure. They will be required to architect, build, and maintain automated solutions for production support and user-facing services. Design, monitor, and scale private and public cloud infrastructure, and provide concise and professional documentation. Additionally, the candidate will manage projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, automate BAU tasks with scripting and configuration management tools, and implement and/or coordinate changes following approved change control policies. The position requires the ability to provide escalation support to remediate performance and availability issues, identify areas of improvement, and adopt automated and innovative solutions. The candidate must be flexible, flourish in a high-paced and challenging environment, and have the capacity to grow and learn from peers. Required Qualifications: 3+ years working with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/OEL preferred) in an enterprise environment with the following areas of focus: operations, systems engineering, and containerization. Experience with configuration management, i.e. Chef, Puppet, and Ansible. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker/Podman (or another containerization engine). Experience with developing and deploying containers via GitOps pipelines using tools such as Gitlab-CI and ArgoCD (Helm and Kustomize). Experience managing some of the following software or protocols: Gitlab, Consul, Kafka, Artifactory (Jfrog), AWX/Tower, Tableau, SSOs (OpenID, SAML, Kerberos), Crowd (Atlassian), HAProxy, Certificate Manager. Proficient in scripting or development in Python, Ruby (Chef), Go, or Bash. Well-organized, proactive, resourceful, able to handle a fast-paced environment, question the status quo, and accountable. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle troubleshooting the unknown, glitches, and the obscure. Strong communication: verbal and written. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related Information Technology experience. Nice to have: Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Pulumi, Bicep). Designing highly available systems. Various cloud providers (AWS and GCP). Disaster recovery management leveraging cloud-specific capabilities. Cloud Storage concepts (Block storage/Blob storage). Job scheduling tools such as Airflow, Prefect Scheduler, and Slurm (or other HPC scheduler). Designing and maintaining CICD pipelines to ensure fast delivery and integration of the platform services.
