Platform Infrastructure Engineer: UP Platform Location: London
UP Platform Infrastructure PI sits at the beating heart of how software gets built, shipped and run across the UP ecosystem. This team does not just provide infrastructure; it curates an exceptional developer experience. Acting as the bridge between core infrastructure and running services, PI creates scalable, failure‑resistant tooling that empowers engineers to move fast with confidence. You will help define the Golden Path from design to deployment, balancing developer autonomy with smart guard rails and shaping a platform that is resilient, intelligible and future‑proof. This is a role for engineers who care deeply about how other engineers work. You will influence outcomes across more than twenty development teams, consolidate fragmented approaches and champion modern practices, including agentic AI, to make iteration faster, safer and smarter. You will dogfood what you build, treat developers as your customers and broadcast an infectious passion for developer experience. Key Skills
- Strong software engineering background with platform engineering instincts
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Concourse or similar
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, Java or Ruby
- Solid working knowledge of Kubernetes and modern cloud platforms
- Confidence designing tooling that spans build, release and runtime concerns
Key Requirements
- Six or more years delivering high‑impact contributions in software engineering or adjacent roles
- Proven ability to design, operate and evolve shared platforms used by many teams
- Track record of improving non‑functional requirements such as reliability, security, observability and delivery speed
