Role
emagine consulting is seeking a Payments Business Analyst to support a range of payments operations, regulatory, and transformation initiatives within regulated financial services environments. This role will contribute across multiple client engagements, working on analysis, solution design, and delivery activities within Payments. The role is suited to individuals who are comfortable operating across business and technology change, supporting regulatory compliance, operational improvements, and scalable payments solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct current-state analysis of end-to-end payments processes across Payments Operations.
- Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and regulatory impacts.
- Produce clear process maps, workflows, and supporting documentation.
- Support the design of target-state payments processes and operating models.
- Support delivery of payments regulatory initiatives, including SEPA, PSD2, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Translate regulatory and business requirements into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
- Work closely with solution and technical architects to contribute to solution and architecture design.
- Support end-to-end delivery of change initiatives across multiple workstreams.
- Engage with business, operations, technology, compliance, and third-party stakeholders.
- Assist with planning, governance, dependency management, and delivery reporting.
- Support testing activities, implementation readiness, and post-implementation review.
Key Skills and Experience
- Circa 3+ years’ experience in Payments Operations and/or Payments change within financial services.
- Understanding of payments processing, clearing, settlement, and operational controls.
- Exposure to payments platforms, core banking systems, or integration layers.
- Exposure to SEPA schemes, PSD2, and payments regulatory environments.
- Experience working in regulated banking or financial services organisations.
- Approximately 3 years’ experience in change, transformation, or project delivery roles.
- Experience working across business analysis, solution design, and delivery support activities.
- Ability to adapt quickly across different clients, delivery models, and environments.
Core Skills & Capabilities
- Strong business analysis and requirements management skills.
- Process mapping and documentation expertise (e.g. BPMN or equivalent).
- Ability to bridge business and technology stakeholders effectively.
- Clear, confident communication and documentation skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working on-site and collaborating within client and emagine delivery teams.
