You’ll be the go-to technical specialist within the middle office — designing, building, and improving the systems that underpin portfolio reporting, performance, risk, and decision-making. This role suits someone who loves building things, enjoys working close to senior investors, and wants to grow into a broader Investment & Business Operations remit over time.
What You’ll Be Doing

- Own and enhance automated data pipelines, reporting tools, dashboards, and analytics
- Improve system robustness, scalability, and data integrity across the platform
Investment reporting & analytics
- Deliver accurate, timely reporting across performance, allocations, liquidity, exposures, and private markets
- Support ad-hoc analysis for investment committees and senior stakeholders
- Perform ongoing data validation and system health checks
Middle office evolution
- Work closely with senior operations leadership to modernise workflows, controls, and reporting frameworks
- Support the build-out of a scalable, best-in-class middle-office capability across public and private assets
- Translate business and investment requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions
Stakeholder interaction
- Work directly with senior investment professionals, including the CIO
- Act as the technical bridge between investment teams, operations, and external providers
- Communicate complex information clearly through high-quality reporting and presentations
What we’re looking for
- Technical capability
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, JavaScript/HTML/CSS
- Advanced Excel/VBA skills and experience handling large datasets
- Proven delivery of automated reporting, data ingestion, and analytics solutions
- Experience integrating with investment systems, databases, and APIs
- Investment & operations knowledge
- Solid understanding of portfolio performance, benchmarks, and risk analytics
- Exposure to global equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity/debt, and derivatives
- Prior experience in investment operations, middle office, or investment systems roles
- Personal profile
- Highly autonomous, proactive, and comfortable owning problems end-to-end
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and operating with minimal supervision
- Detail-driven, organised, and calm under pressure
- Curious, pragmatic, and motivated to continuously improve systems and processes
- Keen to grow into a broader investment and business operations role
The environment
- Lean, high-quality investment platform
- Close proximity to senior decision-makers
- Strong scope for progression and increased responsibility
