We are working with a newly established payments organisation undergoing a significant technology transformation as it evolves into a standalone, fintech‑style business. Backed by substantial long‑term investment, this organisation combines the scale of a major payments provider with the agility, autonomy, and pace of a modern technology company. This is a rare opportunity to join during a foundational phase, where you will play a critical role in shaping how complex technology capabilities are delivered across the enterprise.
We are seeking a Technical Delivery Lead to manage the end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale technology initiatives within Enterprise Technology, with a primary focus on Functions platforms (e.g. Legal, Compliance, Controls, Procurement), alongside wider collaboration across Finance, Risk and HR systems as required. Operating at Vice President level, this role blends technical leadership, delivery management, stakeholder engagement, and risk governance. You will own delivery outcomes for your stream, working across internal teams and third‑party vendors to ensure solutions are delivered to time, cost, quality, and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of complex, multi‑vendor technical programmes using Agile/Scrum methodologies (planning, stand‑ups, demos, retrospectives, sprint execution).
- Own delivery outcomes for enterprise platforms within the Functions domain, while supporting broader enterprise initiatives as required.
- Partner with business and internal stakeholders to shape requirements, manage delivery expectations, and ensure technically feasible solutions.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and product teams to deliver secure, compliant, and high‑quality technology solutions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate delivery, technical, and operational risks, ensuring alignment with governance and control frameworks.
- Manage change requests and maintain clear, transparent communication with stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Own and manage vendor relationships, ensuring suppliers deliver against agreed contracts and expectations.
- Monitor emerging technology trends and delivery practices to continuously improve outcomes and ways of working.
Leadership & Seniority Expectations
Depending on role scope, you will operate either as:
- A people leader, defining roles, planning capacity, guiding performance, and developing future capability.
- A senior individual contributor, acting as a subject matter expert who sets technical direction and leads complex, multi‑year initiatives.
In both cases, you will:
- Advise senior stakeholders on delivery impact, risk, and strategic alignment.
- Demonstrate accountability for risk management and control effectiveness.
- Apply sophisticated analytical thinking to evaluate complex delivery options and define innovative solutions.
- Build strong, trusted relationships across internal and external stakeholders to deliver key business objectives.
About You
This role is suited to a senior technology delivery professional comfortable operating in fast‑moving, transformation environments.
Essential Experience
- Strong technical background with recent experience delivering SaaS‑based solutions.
- Proven experience delivering within Enterprise Technology domains (Risk, Finance, HR, or preferably Functions such as Legal, Compliance or Procurement).
- Demonstrable senior‑level experience leading large‑scale technology change initiatives.
Highly Desirable
- Experience selecting, contracting, and managing multiple technology vendors.
- Experience integrating across SaaS platforms and cloud data environments.
Why This Role?
- Join a high‑profile payments transformation with long‑term strategic backing.
- Shape how enterprise technology delivery operates in a new standalone business.
- Operate with real authority in a flat, empowered organisation.
- Deliver programmes with material investment, visibility, and impact.
- Be part of a journey with strong opportunities for long‑term leadership growth.
