An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Settlements professional to join a high‑performing Investment Operations team on a contract basis. This role is suited to someone with strong settlements knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to internal and external enquiries, delivering a consistently positive client experience.
- Handle client queries via email and phone, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives aimed at reducing manual intervention and enhancing automation.
- Support project activity, including UAT testing and departmental project delivery.
- Investigate daily cash and stock reconciliation breaks, following correct escalation procedures and driving timely resolution.
- Identify, escalate, and help remediate operational risks within established controls and procedures.
- Ensure timely settlement of all bond and equity trades across global markets.
- Pre‑match and settle trades across Asian, American, and European markets via domestic agents and Euroclear.
- Monitor fails and settlements in relevant domestic markets and Euroclear, escalating as necessary.
- Liaise with Cash Management, Trading, and other internal teams to resolve failed trades, settlement issues, and operational risks.
Skills & Experience Required
- Broad operational experience within Investment Banking Operations.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in settlements.
- Strong reconciliations experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and core PC applications.
- Solid understanding of securities markets, deadlines, and settlement challenges.
- Experience with SWIFT, including message formatting and processing.
