Our Client, a leading Systematic Hedge Fund, is looking for a platform support engineer for their Quantitative Developer Platforms Team. In this role you will be the first line of response for infrastructure‑related issues, triaging incidents, handling requests and ensuring smooth daily operations for a high‑performance research and trading platform. This is a critical role that bridges traders, quant researchers and senior engineers, ensuring reliability and responsiveness across our technology stack.
The ideal candidate has a strong troubleshooting mindset, with a structured and analytical approach to problem‑solving. They bring solid experience across Linux, networking, and cloud environments (AWS preferred), alongside familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, or ELK. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and scripting (e.g. Python, Bash) is also key. They communicate clearly with stakeholders and perform effectively under pressure in fast‑paced environments.
Responsibilities- Serve as the first point of contact for infrastructure and platform‑related issues.
- Monitor alerts, logs and dashboards; respond promptly to incidents.
- Perform initial investigation, triage and resolution where possible.
- Escalate complex issues to the relevant senior engineers, providing clear context.
- Handle user requests (onboarding, permissions, environment setup, resource allocation).
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base for recurring issues.
- Contribute to improving monitoring, automation, and support processes.
