A leading UK asset owner is recruiting an Associate to join its growing Private Markets FundsâofâFunds platform. The platform invests across private equity, venture capital, private credit and infrastructure primarily through fund commitments, with selective coâinvestments. It operates as a fully integrated allocator, providing exposure across the privateâmarkets universe from a portfolioâconstruction and managerâselection perspective.
The role is well suited to an earlyâcareer privateâmarkets professional with fundsâofâfunds or multiâmanager experience, who enjoys fund analysis, portfolio monitoring and working across multiple strategies rather than singleâasset execution. The culture is collaborative, lowâego and intellectually rigorous, with a strong emphasis on independent thought and longâterm capital allocation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct fundâlevel underwriting and due diligence across private equity, venture capital, private credit and infrastructure managers.
- Support the evaluation of new and existing fund relationships, including strategy assessment, team analysis, trackârecord review and risk considerations.
- Assist with the review and selective assessment of coâinvestment opportunities alongside core fund commitments.
- Monitor portfolios at a fundâofâfunds level, analysing performance, exposures, pacing, concentration and crossâstrategy implications.
- Prepare written materials, investment notes and analysis for internal discussions and investment committee review.
- Participate in GP meetings and diligence sessions, preparing structured notes and contributing informed challenge.
- Contribute to broader allocatorâlevel discussions around strategy allocation, diversification and portfolio evolution.
- 2â3 years' experience in private markets, preferably in fundsâofâfunds, multiâmanager, allocator or LPâside experience.
- Demonstrable experience underwriting privateâmarkets funds and assessing managers.
- Exposure to infrastructure or private credit preferred.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to step back and think at a portfolio level.
- Comfortable working independently within a collaborative, lowâhierarchy environment.
- Degreeâeducated; CFA/CAIA sponsorship supported but not required.
