About the Role

The global head is responsible for leading the market reporting teams across the Electrification and Materials sectors worldwide. The role drives the development of new assessments, strengthens existing benchmarks and other pricing coverage, and enhances news coverage in collaboration with the global news team. The team spans key sectors including Generating Fuels & Electricity, Environmental Markets, Biofuels, Agriculture & Food, Fertilizers and Metals Markets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall growth strategy for electrification and materials benchmarks, aligning with the division's vision and business plan.
  • Oversee methodology design and development—defining the approach for research and analysis of electrification and materials market activity to provide price assessments used as benchmarks and reference prices in commodity trading.
  • Drive the vertically oriented benchmark business through organic and inorganic growth, acquiring relevant market information to increase relevance and growth rates.
  • Manage strategic market engagement, building relationships with key participants and global exchanges.
  • Support the development of new content and products aligned with energy business goals, ensuring relevance for customers.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of energy markets, risk management, price reporting and analysis, reference data and indices, commodity supply chain, and market analytics.
  • Experience leading and managing a global, remote team across multiple time zones and cultures, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex commodity concepts in simple terms.
  • Proven track record in developing, executing, and managing benchmark initiatives.
  • Experience in price reporting leadership and engagement with policy makers and regulators concerning commodity benchmarks.
  • Demonstrated strategic execution, leadership, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Effective change leadership, particularly in business transformation and AI implementation.

Compensation & Benefits

US candidates: Anticipated base salary range $150,481 – $301,557, variable with location, experience, and qualifications. The role includes annual incentive plan eligibility and access to all S&P Global benefits.
