Please note that this role is 5 days a week in their London Monument Offices. I am seeking a Linux SysAdmin / Engineer to join my London City based client who are a cutting-edge Trading Venue. The ideal candidate will come from a similar Banking or Trading background and have experience in Low-Latency / High Availability environments. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will report to the Head of IT Infrastructure and will collaborate with developers, project stakeholders, and operations to build out the infrastructure for their highly regulated trading venue.

Responsibilities

  • Provision and support of server hardware, Linux OS, and applications.
  • Second-line infrastructure support.
  • Implement monitoring, management, and alerting systems.
  • Support daily operations and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with the Security team to enforce security policies.
  • Lead projects to improve production environments.
  • Create technical documentation and contribute to system design discussions.
  • Shift work and on-call support may be required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Linux administration and deployment experience.
  • Familiarity with Ansible, Puppet, or similar tools.
  • Experience in resilient, low-latency environments is a plus.
  • Skills in virtualization platforms and scripting languages (Bash/Shell, Perl, Python).
  • Experience with monitoring platforms like Zabbix.
  • Knowledge of Identity Management platforms (IPA, LDAP).
  • Independent, detail-oriented, and effective communicator.
  • Experience in vendor management and evaluating new technologies.
  • Previous experience in an Exchange or HFT environment is highly desirable.
