A leading global multi‑strategy trading firm is building a new systematic commodities trading capability, with an initial focus on Copper. As part of this growth, they are hiring a senior Quant Product / Platform Development Lead to own the end‑to‑end build of a greenfield quantitative trading ecosystem. This is a highly technical, hands‑on role, embedded directly with the trading pod. You will own system architecture and delivery across the full lifecycle, from research and analytics through to live production trading. The role sits alongside a senior quant from the metals desk and operates at the intersection of quant research, trading, and engineering, with genuine ownership and influence over how the platform is designed and scaled.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development of the trading platform, spanning research tooling, analytics, and production systems
  • Own architecture and system design for a newly built, greenfield quant ecosystem
  • Drive system performance, reliability, robustness, and extensibility
  • Work closely with traders and quants to translate research into scalable, production‑grade systems
  • Act as the technical owner for platform decisions within the trading pod

Technical Profile

  • Python: essential (core language across the stack)
  • C++: strong advantage, particularly for performance‑critical components
  • Proven experience building quant trading platforms or core trading infrastructure, not just research libraries or standalone execution tools
  • Comfortable owning full lifecycle delivery, from early design to live trading
  • Experience modernising, rebuilding, or translating quant systems is highly relevant

Seniority & Background Fit

  • 7+ years experience in quant development or trading technology
  • Background should include one (or all) of the following: Senior Quant Developer, Quant Product Developer, Platform / Trading Systems Lead
  • Experience in a centralised quant or platform team at a trading firm is highly valued
  • Strong commercial awareness – understands how platform decisions impact trading outcomes
  • Comfortable operating as a technical leader across multiple stakeholder groups
