A fast‑growing global life sciences organisation is seeking an experienced Integration Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of all integration touchpoints across its expanding supply chain technology landscape. You will shape the integration strategy for ERP, Transport Management Systems (TMS), carrier networks, IoT devices, temperature‑monitoring platforms, and contract manufacturing partners. This hands‑on role partners closely with external vendors, internal IT teams, and supply‑chain leadership to define scalable, future‑ready integration patterns, offering impact, autonomy, and technical ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport Management System (TMS) Integrations: Lead the design and execution of integrations between the TMS and ERP platforms, including transfer order submission, goods issue/receipt updates, and bi‑directional event flows. Define API contracts, data transformation rules, and robust error‑handling logic.
- Carrier & Logistics Integrations: Architect integration patterns with global carriers and freight forwarders for booking confirmations, milestone tracking, and proof of delivery. Evaluate API, EDI, and portal‑based integration models per carrier.
- Communication & Notification Architecture: Own the technical design of notification capabilities linked to shipment events. Assess options including TMS‑native providers, Office 365/Power Automate, or dedicated transactional email services.
- Temperature Monitoring & IoT Data Strategy: Develop the integration strategy for real‑time and passive temperature‑monitoring devices used in global distribution. Define data routing architecture between IoT platforms, TMS, ERP, or a dedicated temperature‑management platform.
- CDMO & Manufacturing Partner Integrations: Build standards for data exchange and documentation flows with contract manufacturing organisations (CDMOs). Define portal access models and integration formats.
- Integration Governance & Standards: Establish integration design patterns, API standards, and documentation guidelines. Contribute to architecture governance submissions for integration‑related decisions.
- Vendor Technical Leadership: Act as the technical liaison for multiple integration partners, reviewing API schemas, attending design workshops, and validating technical proposals.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Integration Architect or similar role with strong hands‑on integration expertise.
- Expertise with REST APIs, webhooks, event‑driven architecture, and data‑flow design.
- Experience integrating ERP platforms with SaaS systems.
- Familiarity with middleware such as Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar.
- Experience with carrier/logistics integrations (API, EDI, event processing).
- Background in pharmaceutical/life‑sciences environments is highly beneficial.
- Strong documentation, architecture diagramming, and stakeholder communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience implementing or integrating with Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Knowledge of GxP/GDP requirements for logistics and temperature‑data handling.
- Experience with IoT device data flows and real‑time data ingestion.
- Familiarity with Office 365, Power Automate, or transactional email services.
- Exposure to identity platforms such as Okta for integration/SSO.
