Our client is a highly-successful and established global asset manager with a collaborative and positive working culture. Their London office is now looking to hire a Head of Finance to act as a key finance leader for the firm’s EMEA region and entities. The individual will be responsible for providing commercial business decision support to the Executive Director and CEO, EMEA and Asia regions, including providing monthly reporting on key financial performance metrics.
In addition, this position will have responsibility for all aspects of financial controllership, including statutory filings and the annual audited financial accounts of the firm’s UK and European entities, and supporting the group Company audit; day-to-day financial management; regulatory compliance, and providing key business decision support by acting as a strong business partner to the regional and global leadership team. The individual will also be responsible for supporting Treasury and Tax related matters for the EMEA legal entities.
This position will have responsibility for managing a team of 6 accounting staff and will work closely with global teams such as Controllership, Corporate Accounting, Treasury, Tax and FP&A and will be involved with special projects as required.
Profile Criteria- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) and degree educated
- Significant and progressive post-qualification and management experience, preferably from the Asset / Investment Management sector
- Prior Big 4 (or top 10) accounting firm experience desirable (but not essential)
- Strong leadership and ability to develop employees, provide guidance, direction and training, and promote a positive working environment
- Solid technical accounting knowledge under IFRS and the ability to interpret complex technical accounting issues and implement practical solutions
- Prior experience in a finance business partnership role (i.e., finance business decision support)
- Act as the lead finance business partner to the Executive Director and CEO, EMEA and Asia, with a strong commercial focus (i.e., pricing, terms, etc.).
- Lead the accounting and financial reporting requirements related to the preparation of the audited financial accounts of the firm’s UK and European entities.
- Support Corporate Finance in the preparation of the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements of the firm and related financial analysis and presentations, as required.
- Support Corporate FP&A in the development of forecasts and annual budgets for the firm and its subsidiaries and for the EMEA and Asia regions.
- Ensure all financial regulatory and compliance matters related to the firm and its subsidiaries are appropriately adhered to (United Kingdom, Germany, etc.).
- Provide support for all Corporate Treasury and Tax related matters in the region.
- Develop a strong and scalable accounting team to manage the month-end close process to produce accurate financial results in an efficient manner and to facilitate management reporting views (including by division and by country).
- Develop accounting policies and practices which are consistent with global and corporate policies that are well documented.
- Ensure appropriate internal controls are designed and operating effectively in support of CEO and Group CFO internal control certification.
- Play a key role in local governance, including leading certain committees.
- Build a strong accounting and finance team and provide coaching and mentorship to ensure their continuous professional development.
- Manage relationship with external auditors.
