We are partnering with a highly sophisticated, technology‑driven hedge fund seeking a Global Head of Linux Infrastructure Support to lead a critical function responsible for the stability, performance, and scalability of firm‑wide trading infrastructure. This is a high‑impact leadership role offering the opportunity to shape global support strategy, drive automation, and oversee mission‑critical environments within a fast‑paced, performance‑sensitive business.

The Role

You will lead a globally distributed organisation with regional leadership across APAC, EMEA, and North America, supporting a complex estate spanning platform applications and core Unix server environments. Working closely with specialist teams across Observability, Scheduling & Orchestration, Development Tooling, Compute, Storage, Linux Engineering, and DevOps, you will play a central role in ensuring the resilience and operational excellence of the firm’s trading infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting the vision, policies, and operational roadmap for global infrastructure support
  • Driving automation, self‑service capabilities, and operational maturity across the function
  • Ensuring service levels are achieved while scaling to meet evolving business demands
  • Empowering teams through strong leadership, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinating technical efforts across multiple engineering groups
  • Leading major incident and outage recovery with a calm, structured approach
  • Remaining technically credible, with the ability to engage deeply when required

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading technology teams, ideally at a global scale
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration background (RHEL/CentOS/OEL preferred)
  • Strategic mindset with a strong customer‑service orientation
  • Track record of driving automation within infrastructure or support teams
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, including observability, orchestration, containerization, automated testing, deployment pipelines, and configuration management
  • ITIL knowledge is a plus
  • Experience within a compute heavy infrastructure environment i.e. Low Latency Trading or Big tech
  • Bachelor’s degree
