Overview
FPGA Engineer – Sophisticated Prop Trading Firm
High-frequency prop trading firm with offices worldwide is looking to expand one of its core engineering teams with a talented FPGA Engineer. The role focuses on designing, developing, testing and deploying some of the fastest, most sophisticated trading systems in the world. There is potential for the position to evolve into a Team Lead role in the mid-term future.
Salary
£200k base + bonus
Responsibilities
- Design, development, testing and deployment of high-performance FPGA-based trading systems
- Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to integrate FPGA designs into the broader software stack
- Apply software engineering methodologies to improve the hardware development workflow
- Solve difficult technical problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Requirements
- Software development experience with a language such as C++ or Java
- Solid understanding of the Linux operating system
- Good knowledge of network protocols, e.g. TCP/IP and Ethernet
Desirable
- Start-up background would be ideal
- Experience with FPGA vendor tools, e.g. Vivado, Quartus
- RTL design experience
