Role Purpose:
The Fixed Income Index Analyst supports the management of indexes. This entails monitoring, reviewing, recreating the indexes, and conducting root cause and impact analysis when required.
Role Responsibilities:
- Builds knowledge of indexes, understanding the market structure and terminology.
- Applies Index Management policies and controls, and recommends changes where needed based on real-world events.
- Reviews and recreates more complex indexes; informs relevant teams of changes to processes and data.
- Analyses markets and data to identify root causes of index changes and communicates impact to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides advice and mentorship to internal partners on specialist indexes; collaborates with teams to prevent incidents and recommend index changes.
- Develops knowledge in specific indexes and monitors how market changes affect them.
- Communicates market and index changes to clients, explaining causes and effects.
- Maintains the integrity and accuracy of indexes by reviewing data for completeness, authenticity, accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or equivalent
- Some related business experience
- Previous experience in an index-related role is desirable but not essential as full training is provided
