Job description
Swisslinx are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller / Accountant to oversee all financial aspects of our business operations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company\βs accounting processes, preparing accurate financial reports, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a hands-on professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong technical accounting skills and the ability to develop and implement robust financial controls.
Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Prepare management reports and provide financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
- Manage asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure compliance with local tax, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and other advisors.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Support senior management with financial planning and strategic decisions.
- Provide financial input to business plans, projects, and investments.
Requirements
- Bachelor\βs degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accountant, or similar role.
- Experience in mining, logistics, or services industry is an advantage.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic and growing organization.
- Fluent in English and French is preferred.
