Financial Accountant – 6-Month Contract
Location: Whitely (On-site Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Duration: 6 Months
Salary: £63,000 annually
Working Pattern: 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday, on-site)
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Senior Finance professional to support a range of business-critical activities over a 6-month period. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Financial Services and post-qualification experience in a dynamic finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage BAU reporting changes to align with evolving business needs.
- Drive BAU operational changes, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Participate in IT system testing to support finance-related system upgrades and implementations.
- Lead on acquisition accounting, ensuring accurate financial integration and reporting.
- Manage year-end processing, including preparation of statutory accounts and Solvency II (SII) reporting.
- Support the year-end audit process, liaising with internal and external auditors.
- Deliver training and handover of key finance processes to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer.
- Oversee and manage additional finance resources, providing leadership and guidance.
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA – CIMA not suitable).
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience within the Financial Services sector.
- Strong technical accounting skills and experience with complex reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven leadership experience and ability to manage and mentor junior team members.
