Citi’s Markets business is a global leader offering world‑class solutions and unparalleled access across nearly 80 countries. This junior role is within the EMEA Corporate Events Flow Trading (CEFT) and Single Stock Flow (SSF) team in Delta One. You’ll optimise Equities & Prime Brokerage inventory by trading single‑stock derivatives, focusing on dividend and corporate action dates. The position offers an opportunity to develop deep market understanding, hone quantitative skills, and directly contribute to P&L and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and mitigate risks across trading books, ensuring accurate P&L reporting and reconciliation.
- Execute OTC and listed trades with counterparties and through inter‑dealer brokers to manage the firm’s inventory, adhering to transaction terms, approvals, and restrictions.
- Collaborate with the stock loan and funding desks to build synthetic short coverage, improving balances and the efficiency of delta‑one and wider equities financing.
- Work closely with derivatives and delta‑one sales teams to service single‑stock futures clients, fulfilling pricing requests and aligning with client growth strategies.
- Provide expert pricing for prime brokerage and synthetic prime brokerage positions related to dividends, offering insights into liquidity and corporate action complexities.
- Optimize corporate action elections across all firm positions, managing conflicting stakeholder interests to mitigate risk and capture revenue opportunities.
- Partner with technology teams to enhance trading systems, increase efficiency, improve operational processes, and strengthen desk controls.
Qualifications
- Degree in a numerical/STEM subject preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in analytical and quantitative disciplines.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills essential for risk management, trade execution, and strategic decision‑making.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or VBA preferred to support system enhancements and data analysis.
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
