Senior Development Engineer – Shrewsbury
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Development Engineer to join a leading organization within the Defense Engineering sector, based in Shrewsbury, UK. This role is central to the verification and validation of powertrain products, primarily supporting defense land systems.
What You Will Do:
- Support to planning (resource profiling and costing of verification and validation) engineering programs.
- Creating detailed test plans (DVP&R) to validate complex components / assemblies
- Run rig / dyno tests on components / assemblies and produce technical reports covering findings.
- Conduct complex data analysis on test results using hand calculations and / or relevant simulation software as needed.
- Engage in stakeholder reviews, presenting to colleagues of all levels across engineering and other associated departments.
- Provide guidance and direction to less experienced engineers as needed within the team.
- Communicate complex technical information to customers, team members, suppliers and other business units as needed.
What You Will Bring:
- An accredited engineering degree (2:2 or above) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a development engineer role, ideally with engine, transmission, or driveline development experience.
- Experience in product testing of either components or complete assemblies.
- Extensive troubleshooting experience on complex products or systems.
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
- Proven ability to deliver work to clearly defined plans within tight timescales.
- A Willingness to travel to both customer and supplier locations as needed.
