Our client is a leading quantitative firm and are seeking a Desktop Engineer to support their London office which is predominantly a trading floor environment. The Desktop Engineer will work closely with internal IT teams and global technology counterparts to troubleshoot and solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st & 2nd line support for desktop hardware and software
  • Diagnose technical issues using tools such as Splunk, Wireshark, WinDbg, Check_MK, etc.
  • Continuous improvement of support processes and the implementation of new tools/procedures
  • Deliver user services including application support, inventory management, and web conferencing.
  • Sustain the Knowledge Base

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in desktop support, covering both software and hardware.
  • Strong proficiency with Windows desktop environments, including registry level configuration.
  • Good understanding of printers, peripherals, graphics cards, and workstation hardware.
  • Familiarity with trading floor or high pressure support environments is beneficial.
