Our client a leading systematic hedge fund, is looking for a AWS specialised cloud engineer to design and implement custom AWS architectures to enhance the quantitative research and modelling process of the trade desk, and to collaborate with quantitative researchers, developers and data scientists to understand their needs to translate them into scalable, flexible and secure cloud solutions.
The ideal candidate for this role would have at least 8 years of experience as a cloud engineer/ architect with a strong focus on AWS technologies and strong experience with containerization and serverless architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement custom AWS architectures to enhance the quantitative research and modelling processes of the desk.
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers, developers, and data scientists to understand their needs and translate them into scalable, flexible, and secure cloud solutions.
- Ensure the optimal performance, availability, and reliability of cloud infrastructure to support high-performance quantitative research and large-scale data analysis.
- Automate infrastructure deployment, management, and monitoring to streamline research operations and enable rapid prototyping.
Qualifications:
8+ years experience as a Cloud Architect or Engineer with a strong focus on AWS technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including EKS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch and others.
- Experience in designing highly available, resilient, and secure cloud solutions for research or finance environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud security practices, encryption, and governance.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and automation tools (e.g.: Terraform).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) and serverless architecture.
