The Associate Analyst will focus on supporting the Biotech & Pharma franchises in Europe with financial modeling, generating insights, writing, and conducting investment research. The analysis will be based on company financial data, industry‑leading data, Bloomberg\’s data sets, financial models, and issuer calls and announcements.
Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the team’s daily research activities such as data aggregation, financial modeling, written research, and idea generation.
- Monitor and interpret major company developments and identify macro themes and trends affecting industries.
- Manage significant data analysis and modeling responsibilities; synthesize results, draw conclusions, and develop concise narratives that communicate the story behind the data.
- Review submitted research for adherence to global quality standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments and external professionals; participate in department‑wide special projects.
- Work with other data and core business groups to develop and improve content and functionality across the terminal.
- Maintain earnings models driven by live Bloomberg data.
Qualifications
- Graduated with a bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or a related field.
- At least two years of financial market research or Biotech & Pharma industry subject‑matter experience with demonstrable research and analytical skills.
- Deep understanding of advanced finance and accounting concepts, procedures, and practices.
- Solid experience performing quantitative financial analysis, including financial statement analysis and modeling.
- Ability to spot anomalies in financial data, think critically, and identify inconsistencies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- High level of curiosity and attention to detail.
- Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- A commitment to improving and developing products.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA degree or other graduate education.
- Experience using Python or visualization tools such as Power‑BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
- Experience with generative AI or machine learning platforms.
- Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal.
