Assistant Manager, Restructuring

Interpath is an international, fast‑growing advisory business with deep expertise in deals, advisory and restructuring. The role is based in Nottingham, Birmingham or Bristol.

We deliver tangible results for global businesses, their investors, and stakeholders when complex problems arise and critical decisions need to be made. Interpath is agile, independent and conflict‑free, dedicated to doing what’s right every time.

Our national markets team in the Midlands & South is looking for an Assistant Manager to work alongside colleagues in the Core Insolvency Restructuring team. The role involves providing insolvency and contingency planning advice in large, complex, multi‑jurisdictional situations, supporting restructuring via insolvency procedures and undertaking formal insolvency work for large institutions. The position requires flexibility across all sectors, possible domestic and international travel, and dynamic, fast‑moving environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work in engagement teams of 3‑6 people, supporting senior team members on a range of product types.
  • Build strong, trusted adviser relationships with senior management, mid‑level executives and other key stakeholders, including lawyers and bank contacts.
  • Manage engagements and projects to scope, time, quality and budget, complying with Interpath’s engagement management practices.
  • On relevant assignments, act as the main point of contact with the client, reporting back to engagement leaders and other senior staff.
  • Conduct detailed analysis to present robust advice to client teams.
  • Assess challenging, fast‑developing situations and develop innovative solutions, potentially involving formal insolvency processes.
  • Potentially contribute to new product development or business development activities.
  • Develop junior staff on assignments.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or background in the restructuring profession.
  • Experience in corporate insolvency is beneficial; an insolvency licence / JIEB qualification, or intention to commence it, is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Demonstrable experience managing your own workstreams within restructuring and insolvency engagements.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Proactive self‑starter who can work independently while effectively delegating and collaborating within wider teams.
  • Desire to broaden insolvency expertise across the full range of restructuring services.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels, often in challenging or sensitive circumstances.
  • Willingness to work across various sectors and undertake travel where required.
  • Collaborative team player who supports the development and mentoring of junior colleagues.
  • High levels of drive, energy, and enthusiasm.

Benefits

At Interpath, we provide employees with a competitive and comprehensive reward package that includes compelling salaries and a range of core and optional benefits.
