On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for a Lead Business Functional Analyst, VP for an initial 6-month contract (scope for extension) based in London, Canary Wharf (3 days/week on‑site).
Project Overview
Deutsche Bank is running a high‑profile data transformation within their Anti‑Financial Crime (AFC) Technology function, focused on building an in‑house data solution that will dramatically improve how critical AFC information is accessed, analysed, and used across the organisation. This solution provides a centralised search capability, consolidating key information from KYC, Account, Product, and historic risk event data into a single, intuitive interface. It empowers investigators and compliance teams to work faster, make better‑informed decisions, and strengthen the quality of financial crime investigations.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with key business, compliance, and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment of requirements and objectives for the data solution.
- Develop clear and actionable user stories and epics based on business needs, ensuring all requirements are understood by development teams.
- Perform data analysis to support solution design and identify potential issues, ensuring high‑quality data integration across various systems.
- Work within Agile frameworks, actively participating in sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and other ceremonies to drive project delivery.
- Lead efforts to integrate, clean, and consolidate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency across the platform.
- Collaborate with teams to define and implement visualisation capabilities to present key data insights and trends to senior stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and provide clear updates to stakeholders on project status and next steps.
The Skills You’ll Need
- Business Analysis or Product Management experience in complex data‑driven projects, ideally within financial services or compliance‑focused environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including experience writing user stories, participating in sprints, and collaborating with development teams.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data analysis, data validation, and working with large datasets.
- Knowledge of data models, APIs, and multi‑tier system design.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders across business, compliance, and technology teams.
