This food brand is on a mission to transform consumers lives with delicious and nutritious food without any compromise on taste or convenience. As a challenger brand they have already made waves in the industry with their innovation along with their stance on quality and sustainability. They are entering an exciting growth phase and have created a new role for a Head of Product that can join their Senior Leadership team, to develop and drive their product strategy. The role is based at their London HQ (2 to 3 days) with travel to suppliers and UK manufacturing partners. The Role Reporting to the CEO / Founder you will lead the Product Vision and Strategy to ensure that products are not only successful but fully align with the brands commitment to taste, health and sustainability. You will manage the Product Team (NPD and technical) with responsibility for all stages of the innovation decision-making process, creating current and future food strategies that are in line with the brand’s food ethos, consumer trends and commercial aspirations. This will involve working closely with Brand & Sales teams to review data and insights to underpin the strategic vision and sustainability initiatives. This cross functional leadership role will place you in a position of financial accountability for the innovations budget, making sure all projects are properly resourced and tracked. Developing and fostering exceptional relationships with manufacturing partners UK is also pivotal to the success of delivering the NPD & EPD strategy. A key part of the role will be to lead your teams to success by providing the right level of motivation and personal development, driving creativity and the food agenda as well as ensuring the team framework is robust enough for the company’s growth plans. The Person To make an impact in this role you’ll be highly skilled in delivering an NPD strategy and launching outstanding products within the chilled / high risk food categories. Being inspirational, credible and logical you will bring purpose and clarity to the food function, using manufacturing experience to confidently facilitate finding solutions to any issue. As a real foodie you will be innovative in your approach to NPD whilst also being process driven and commercially aware, in order to drive long and short-term projects with the correct brand and consumer agenda. You enjoy working at pace and thrive working in a cross-functional capacity where you are highly adept at influencing to achieve results. You will have proven team management skills coupled with excellent communication and the necessary know-how to motivate and inspire your team to unrivalled success in a very competitive marketplace.
