We are seeking a dedicated Lead Pharmacist for Critical Care to join our team. This role involves applying advanced specialist knowledge in critical care settings, contributing significantly to the development and implementation of clinical services. Your expertise will enhance patient care through the development of protocols, conducting research, and ensuring the cost-effective use of medications.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Expertise
- Utilize highly specialized knowledge to improve patient care in critical care settings.
- Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Conduct audits and research to ensure best practices in pharmaceutical care.
- Leadership and Education
- Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to healthcare professionals and patients.
- Deliver training and educational sessions on medication management to pharmacy staff, nurses, doctors, and medical students.
- Act as a non-medical prescriber, managing clinical treatments and medications for assigned patients.
- Operational Duties
- Conduct risk assessments as required by the Principal Pharmacist(s).
- In the absence of the Principal Pharmacist(s), organise or update the weekly service coverage schedule.
- Address senior-level issues as the most senior pharmacist on site when necessary.
- Continuous Professional Development
- Engage in training to maintain and enhance clinical and technical expertise.
- Contribute to the expansion of pharmaceutical services at Warrington Hospital, Halton Hospital, and other facilities served by the Pharmacy Department.
