Key Job Responsibilities
- Service Management and Development
- Oversee the delivery, management, and growth of the pharmacy clinical trials service.
- Attend clinical trials meetings relevant to the specialty.
- Collaborate with research teams and the Principal Pharmacist to prioritize and identify key clinical trial services.
- Develop, implement, and audit clinical trials practices in the pharmacy.
- Provide expert advice on clinical trials to various departments and teams.
- Support senior pharmacists and directors in clinical trials management and project development.
- Contribute to business planning and strategy development in response to service expansion, new consultant appointments, and identified risks.
- Clinical Trials Service (80%)
- Lead and manage a comprehensive specialist clinical trials pharmacy service.
- Work according to GCP guidelines and established pharmacy clinical trials procedures.
- Assess the feasibility of clinical trial protocols and ensure safe and deliverable pharmaceutical aspects.
- Calculate and manage the costs associated with pharmacy support for clinical trials.
- Liaise with research teams and sponsors to ensure timely appraisal and approval of clinical trials.
- Finalize the setup of clinical trials, including writing and checking dispensing procedures.
- Ensure adherence to protocol requirements for investigational medicinal product (IMP) management.
- Facilitate the development of new services for novel therapies in research settings.
