NHS Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Pharmacist to join our team in Solihull. This leadership role is pivotal in enhancing the integration of general practice with the broader healthcare system, optimizing medication use, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Support
- Integration and Optimization: Guide the integration of general practice with healthcare systems and lead person-centered medicines optimization.
- Governance: Implement pharmacy governance within the workplace effectively.
- KPIs and Goals: Assist the Chief Pharmacist in achieving key performance indicators and strategic goals.
- Team Management: Lead and support clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and prescribing support staff.
- Mentorship: Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to PCN clinical pharmacists and future pharmacists.
- Training: Offer guidance and training on important prescribing messages to enhance prescriber knowledge.
- Quality Improvement: Focus on QOF domains and improve disease registers.
- Medicines Information: Act as a resource for medicines information for the practice team and patients.
- Audits and Safety: Conduct prescribing safety audits and manage clinical safety, including actioning MHRA safety alerts.
- New Services Development: Collaborate with the Chief Pharmacist to develop and manage new services based on new medicines or NICE guidance.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to the Practice’s Health and Safety policies and report incidents as per the Incident Reporting System.
- Data Protection: Comply with the Data Protection Act (1984) and the Access to Health Records Act (1990).
