About the Role

The University of Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to join the Sheffield Clinical Trials Research Unit (CTRU). This role involves collaborating closely with CTRU staff, Chief Investigators, and Study Managers to support the execution of randomized controlled trials and/or methodological research related to trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Assist Study Managers and CTRU staff in various project management tasks under supervision, including obtaining regulatory approvals, setting up and closing down study sites, and supporting participant recruitment and reporting.
  • Quality Control: Liaise with staff at study sites and ensure quality control by undertaking site monitoring and related responsibilities.
  • Methodological Work: Contribute to the methodological aspects of trials, working in conjunction with senior staff members.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Research Methods: Experience in using a range of research methods is highly desirable.
  • Educational Background: A postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in psychology, biology, pharmacology, pharmacy, or social science would be advantageous.
