As a Senior Pharmacy Receptionist, you’ll be the primary point of contact for the dispensary service, demonstrating courtesy to patients and staff. Your responsibilities include receiving prescriptions, resolving issues, and ensuring completeness of patient details. You’ll assist patients with the payment kiosk, manage stock control, and provide guidance on exemptions. Moreover, you’ll play a crucial role in liaising with patients and ward staff, handling delays, and providing training to new volunteers and pharmacy staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive prescriptions following agreed procedures.
- Ensure completeness of patient details on prescriptions.
- Assist patients with payment kiosk and escalate complex issues.
- Utilize stock control system to manage pharmacy inventory.
- Signpost patients to community pharmacies when appropriate.
- Book prescriptions onto PTS in a timely manner.
- Flag prescriptions past or approaching completion time.
- Communicate delays in processing prescriptions to patients and ward staff.
