Join our team at NHS Jobs as a Pharmacy Technician! Work collaboratively with Clinical Pharmacists, Community Pharmacists, and Clinicians to ensure adherence to prescribing standards. Process medication requests, issue prescriptions, and provide valuable advice to patients on medication optimization and lifestyle choices. Conduct medication reviews in various settings, supporting cost-effective prescribing and enhancing patient care quality. Collaborate with primary and secondary care colleagues, undertake regular audits, and contribute to prescribing initiatives. Safely manage transitions of care, address medication discrepancies, and ensure patients’ needs are at the forefront of decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Process repeat medication requests and issue prescriptions according to clinical protocols.
  • Provide medication review services in clinics, domiciliary visits, and residential/nursing homes.
  • Support achievement of prescribing targets and deal with medication queries.
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and liaise with healthcare colleagues.
  • Conduct data analysis, contribute to medicine audits, and support high-risk medicines prescribing.
  • Document interventions in patient health records, ensuring a clear audit trail.
  • Promote cost-effective, evidence-based prescribing in alignment with local and national guidance.
  • Attend meetings to improve access to medicines and repeat prescribing processes.
  • Seek input from clinical lead when appropriate.
