Join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialist Clinical Trials Pharmacist. You will play an essential role in our dynamic and multicultural Clinical Trials Pharmacy department, which prioritizes diversity, inclusion, and a commitment to excellence. As a Specialist Clinical Trials Pharmacist, you will contribute to the development and execution of cutting-edge clinical trials. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with a strong interest in combining pharmaceutical expertise with project management.
You will manage the preparation and updating of in-house documentation, oversee the supply and storage of investigational medicinal products, and ensure the successful participation of the pharmacy in clinical trials that push the boundaries of medical innovation. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience in the Aseptic Preparation of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) within our clinical trials aseptic unit and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) Unit. We welcome applicants who may not meet the full person specification, with the understanding that successful candidates will be appointed to a lower band until all required competencies are achieved. Comprehensive training will be provided.
Main Duties of the Job:
- Participate in all stages of Pharmacy Clinical Trials from setup to close down.
- Conduct feasibility reviews to assess the support capacity for clinical trials within the pharmacy.
- Present costings to sponsors for pharmacy operational expenses during trials.
- Set up and update study-specific documents.
- Process amendments efficiently to maintain trial progression.
- Proactively address challenges to ensure trials progress while maintaining patient safety and data integrity.
- Provide regular updates on pharmaceutical aspects to align with project goals.
- Accuracy check both oral and aseptically prepared trial medications.
- Coordinate and deliver Pharmacy support to researchers within the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Trial Team to manage the workload for Pharmacy Services across the Trust.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (ICH/GCP, EU Directive 2001/20/EC, FDA, GMP) and the Research Governance Framework.
- Provide specialized professional expertise to researchers in developing clinical trial protocols involving medications.
- Support and interact with Clinical Trial Technicians and Senior Technical Officers.
