Are you an experienced Pharmacist seeking a dynamic and fulfilling role? Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) invites you to apply for the position of Band 7 Pharmacist. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team and contribute to the exceptional services provided by our Dispensary and Operational team.
Job Summary
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Clinical Lead Operational Pharmacist, focusing on the clinical aspects related to the functioning of the Dispensary, Procurement, and Distribution. We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively within a team and independently.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a role model for technical and support staff in the Dispensary Team.
- Mentor and supervise Junior Pharmacists rotating through the Dispensary.
- Clinically screen TTOs and Outpatient prescriptions as required.
- Develop the role of rotational Pharmacists in the dispensary.
- Ensure the Dispensary's compliance with best practices and medicines legislation.
- Manage the safe and secure handling of controlled drugs in the Dispensary.
- Participate in on-call, weekend, Bank Holiday, and late duties as per the rota.

Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualifications: Taught Masterβs Degree in Pharmacy
- Registration: Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacist
- Experience and Knowledge: Range of hospital pharmacy services, Awareness of current issues, Up-to-date pharmacy knowledge, Clinical service and Dispensary experience, Paediatric Medicine, Training, mentoring, and supervising staff
- Skills and Abilities: Numerate with attention to detail, Proven organizational skills, Good time management and problem-solving abilities, Ability to work independently and as part of a team, Excellent IT and database skills, Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
- Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Independent Prescriber qualification
- Educational supervisor experience
- Knowledge of homecare supplies, EPIC Computer system, and Ascribe computer system
