We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at NHS Jobs in Portland, DT5 1DL. The role involves day-to-day ordering, receiving, and unpacking of pharmaceutical products, adhering to GDP and departmental SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
- Order, receive, and unpack pharmaceutical products according to GDP and SOPs.
- Act as a second checker for administration of Controlled Drugs.
- Conduct regular stock checks and monitor expiry dates, fridge, and ambient temperatures.
- Manage Medicines Optimisation work in treatment areas, ensuring timely tasks and orders.
- Communicate with the Pharmacy/Healthcare department for orders and query resolutions.
- Undertake administration of weekly and monthly In Possession medication to patients.
- Ensure compliance with current legislation, GDP, and Trust financial procedures.
- Handle telephone queries and act as the first point of contact for staff visiting the department.
- Undertake a prison security check (level 2) as part of pre-employment checks.
Requirements
- National Security Vetting willingness for working in a Prison Setting.
- Proof of right to work, photographic ID, and proof of address documentation.
- Non-UK passport holders need correct documentation (right to work in the UK) and a Home office Share code.
- 5 years address history required; Police Certificate for non-UK passport holders with less than 5 years UK address history.
- UK passport holders who lived abroad for more than six months in the last three years need a certificate of good conduct or an overseas police check.
