The Christie NHS FT Closing Date: 22 July 2024 Apply for this Job Job Summary We are excited to announce an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Band 8a) to join our dynamic team at The Christie NHS FT. The successful candidate will primarily focus on providing pharmacy services within the gynaecological oncology disease group, overseeing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) for patients with ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers. The role involves accountability for delivering specialist clinical pharmacy services, supporting the cancer disease group alongside other specialist gynaecological disease group pharmacists, and actively participating in outpatient clinics for prescribing. You will also contribute to pharmacist-led SACT clinics, including PARP inhibitor clinics within the gynaecological disease group. As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in service delivery, new initiatives, and the development/review of drug protocols, including newly NICE-approved SACT. Our Pharmacy Department collaborates on numerous projects with various research partners and maintains strong links with the University of Manchester. We support our staff in pursuing postgraduate training, research, and secondment opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Deliver and evaluate clinical pharmacy services to gynaecological cancer patients. Supervise and prescribe Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies and supportive treatments for patients with ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers. Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of medicines used within the Trust, particularly in the designated cancer disease group. Promote the safe, efficient, and cost-effective use of medicinal resources through education, training, procedures, policies, guidelines, and medicine usage information. Contribute to the broader clinical pharmacy service for patients across all disease groups. Although based at The Christie Hospital main site, you may be required to work at various locations across the Greater Manchester and Cheshire Cancer Network.
