The Pharmacy Assistant role entails day-to-day tasks such as ordering, receiving, and unpacking pharmaceutical products, adhering to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key responsibilities include:
- Ordering, receiving, and unpacking pharmaceutical products in line with GDP and departmental SOPs.
- Ensuring timely sourcing of medicines and accurate use of the pharmacy computer system for receiving goods.
- Acting as a second checker for Controlled Drugs administration.
- Conducting regular stock and expiry date checks and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Managing Medicines Optimisation work and communicating with healthcare departments.
- Responding to queries and adhering to prison procedures and regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Candidates must undergo National Security Vetting and provide necessary documentation as outlined in the job description. Documentation required includes proof of right to work, ID, address history, and, for non-UK passport holders, additional documentation as specified. Guidance for obtaining Police Certificates is provided for applicants with international residency.
