Summary
The Clinical Pharmacist will:
- Manage staff involved in implementing and developing services alongside Lead Clinical Pharmacists and the Pharmacy General Services Manager.
- Independently implement services aligning with the Pharmacy Department’s business plans.
- Identify initiatives to enhance services and implement and monitor their progress.
- Conduct clinical audits and practice research, implementing necessary actions from the audit cycle.
- Provide training to staff, including pre-registration pharmacists, pharmacists, student technicians, and technicians.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy practice Standard Operating Procedures.
- Represent the pharmacy department at local meetings and participate in all pharmaceutical services.
- Provide professional leadership to clinical pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists, technicians, and assistants.
- Prepare weekly pharmacists’ rotas in line with departmental policy.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to drug purchase, supply, use, safe custody, and destruction.
- Record all activities associated with the receipt and supply of medicines on Pharmacy computer systems.
- Assist in the distribution of medicines and maintain systems for drug control.
- Handle cash transactions for prescription charges or medicine sales.
