This is an exciting opportunity to join our forward-thinking team as an Independent Prescribing Clinical Pharmacist within our Primary Care Network (PCN). We seek an experienced and highly motivated pharmacist to join our PCN-based team. You will have access to peer support and professional development opportunities as part of our multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Main Duties of the Job
- Essential Qualifications: Applicants must have prior general practice experience and hold an independent prescribing qualification. Successful candidates will need to enroll in the CPPE primary care pathway, which will be fully funded. An exemption may be considered if you are suitably qualified.
- Key Attributes: We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and experienced pharmacist to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, possess excellent clinical acumen, and meet our rigorous internal specifications.
- Support & Development: Our experienced clinical support team will provide training and assistance with continuing professional development needs.
About Us
Denton Primary Care Network encompasses primary care teams from six general medical practices across Denton and Droylsden. With a PCN population of approximately 55,000 patients, we work closely with local practices and care homes to address both local and national priorities. We are dedicated to staff development and ensuring our team meets both clinical and non-clinical needs.
Job Description Responsibilities:
- Support to General Practice Staff: Assist with repeat prescriptions and manage acute prescription requests and medicines reconciliation.
- Clinical Leadership: Provide leadership on medicines optimization, quality improvement, and aspects of the quality and outcomes framework.
- Operational Efficiency: Improve the quality of care and operational efficiencies within general practice and PCNs.
Person Specification
- Qualifications: Essential: Undergraduate degree in pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Independent prescribing qualification. Desirable: CPPE Clinical Pharmacist Training pathway enrollment or qualification.
- Experience: Essential: Previous general practice experience, strong clinical leadership, and excellent communication skills. Desirable: Experience with acute and long-term conditions, care home settings, and knowledge of PCN arrangements.
