The Senior Clinical Pharmacist in Orthopaedics is a crucial role within our healthcare team. This individual will report to and be managed by the Lead Pharmacist, while also maintaining professional accountability to the Chief Pharmacist / Clinical Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management: Oversee a team of clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy support workers. Ensure the planning and delivery of high-quality clinical pharmacy and medicine management services.
- Clinical Services: Provide specialized clinical pharmacy and medicine management services. Represent the orthopaedic directorate in specialty meetings. Offer expert advice to the directorate, the Trust, and the broader health economy.
- Collaboration and Development: Work closely with patients, healthcare professionals, consultants, and Care Group leads. Develop and deliver services that align with the priorities and needs of patients and service providers.
- Cross-Boundary Liaison: Collaborate with other pharmacy teams, healthcare professionals, and external agencies. Address medicine management issues across different boundaries to ensure cohesive practice.
- Practice Influence and Safety: Influence local practices to ensure safe medication use. Ensure that both personal practice and the practice of others adhere to good prescribing practices, patient safety, and risk minimization.
- Strategic Contribution: Participate in the site-based senior pharmacy management team. Contribute to strategy, policy development, and operational and financial planning.
