Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital, a haven of tranquility and repose set in over 19 acres of private woodland, is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist Manager to join our esteemed team. As a Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality clinical care and advice across various hospital departments, including the Pre-assessment clinic, Outpatient Department, Ward, and Theatres.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and advice on medicines management, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and legal processes throughout the hospital.
  • Chair the Medicines Management Forum quarterly.
  • Optimize antimicrobial management to minimize hospital-acquired infections.
  • Undertake daily ward rounds, reconciling medication for new inpatients, counseling patients, and managing prescriptions.
  • Lead the implementation of medication safety alerts and drug recalls, working closely with the Matron and Quality Lead.
  • Implement and monitor DoH guidance on controlled drugs use, ensuring quarterly CD audits.
  • Manage errors, complaints, and incidents in accordance with Nuffield Health guidelines.
  • Support the development of other healthcare professionals and deliver medicines-focused training upon request.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Registered Pharmacist with relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of national and local policies and guidelines.
