We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Pharmacist for our Paediatric and Neonatal units at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. This role involves leading and managing the daily delivery of clinical pharmacy services, ensuring that these services meet the specific needs of the Families Division.
- Clinical Pharmacy Service Management: Oversee and direct the clinical pharmacy services for the Paediatric and Neonatal units, ensuring high standards and efficiency.
- Service Development and Evaluation: Develop, implement, and assess clinical pharmacy services to align with the specialty requirements.
- Medicine Management: Utilize principles of sound medicines management and clinical governance to ensure the safe, effective, and economical use of medicinal resources.
- Specialist Knowledge: Maintain and develop expert knowledge in medicines used for treating children and neonates, serving as a key resource for the department and Trust.
- Service Quality: Ensure a consistently high level of pharmaceutical service in line with the Trust’s service objectives.
- Monitoring and Feedback: Conduct regular audits and evaluations of clinical pharmacy services, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Antimicrobial Stewardship: Contribute to the Antimicrobial stewardship programme under the direction of the Lead Pharmacist Antimicrobials.
- Prescribing: Prescribe medications in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, subject to the necessary qualifications.
