Responsibilities:
- Develop and provide a clinical pharmacy service for Trauma and Orthopaedics patients.
- Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and offer strategic guidance on clinical pharmacy issues.
- Influence safe and cost-effective drug therapy, including new drug evaluations and financial reporting.
- Identify and encourage improvements in pharmaceutical care and prescribing.
- Review and develop policies and procedures for safe medication handling.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, best practices, and guidelines.
- Undertake risk management, develop audits, and lead education and training initiatives.
- Contribute to research and audit projects related to drug use in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
- Manage and train junior staff, acting as a team leader for the clinical pharmacy team.
Requirements:
- Expertise in Trauma and Orthopaedics with knowledge of general surgery, plastics surgery, and intensive care.
- Ability to provide advice and consultancy to patients, healthcare professionals, and other agencies.
- Participate in MDT on consultant ward rounds and support prescribing as an independent prescriber.
