Our client is seeking a Senior Manager, Policy based in St Helier, Jersey. This is a permanent, full-time position that plays a crucial leadership role in shaping the regulatory framework of the financial services industry in Jersey. The Senior Manager will report to the Director of Policy and will lead a dedicated team focused on enhancing the prudential and funds regulatory frameworks. The role encompasses driving the ongoing development of legislation and guidance in alignment with international standards. The successful candidate will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including government representatives and industry leaders, ensuring robust regulatory standards while maintaining competitiveness as an International Financial Centre. The position requires a proactive and flexible approach to leadership, fostering a high-performing team and contributing to the strategic goals of the organisation.
Job Duties
- Lead the ongoing development and enhancement of prudential and funds regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor, review, and enhance prudential codes and guidance, collaborating with the Government of Jersey for necessary law changes.
- Develop and maintain clear regulatory guidance and frameworks to support industry implementation.
- Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to agree on and implement sound policy.
- Build and manage a capable team, focusing on performance management and professional development.
Job Requirements
- Proven knowledge and experience of the legal, policy, and regulatory framework of the financial services industry in Jersey.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in complex situations and to navigate competing priorities effectively.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and inspiring high-performing teams.
- Practical understanding of Jersey's legal structures and product offerings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with senior representatives from industry and government.
- Robust stakeholder management abilities and presentation skills, particularly in conveying complex information clearly and credibly.
