Our client is seeking a Human Capital Senior Associate (Absence and Wellbeing) based in Guernsey or Jersey. This full-time role consists of contracted hours of 37.5 per week. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the People Operations team, contributing significantly to the employee experience by leveraging their knowledge of people policies and procedures. The role requires effective communication across various stakeholder groups, managing expectations, and streamlining processes. The Human Capital Senior Associate will act as the subject matter expert for Absence and Wellbeing, overseeing employee absences, parental leave, and wellbeing support while ensuring compliance with local legislation. Furthermore, the role encompasses assisting with employee contracts, supporting global mobility processes, and contributing to career coaching initiatives. The successful integration of maximum capacity and firm growth is vital to the organisation's success, making collaboration and innovation key attributes of this position.
Job Duties:
- Oversight and approval of employee absences by monitoring and approving sickness requests in Workday, liaising with Payroll to ensure appropriate pay adjustments, and monitoring special leave.
- Supervision of the parental policy and leave, liaising with expectant parents, and undertaking risk assessments as necessary.
- Management of wellbeing support, including occupational health and coordination with external providers for return-to-work support and workplace adjustments.
- Ensuring the firm maintains relevant information related to medical conditions and disabilities and providing necessary support to employees.
- Assisting in the maintenance of Employee Contracts and processing Internal Transfers and Contractual Changes.
- Supporting the Global Mobility process and interacting with GM teams worldwide.
- Assisting in Employee Relations cases as required and contributing to Career Coach and Leadership Training.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting reporting mechanisms.
- Performing other associated tasks as directed by the People Operations team.
Job Requirements:
- CIPD Level 3 or above (or equivalent).
- Must hold the right to work in Guernsey or Jersey.
- Experience with HR technologies such as Workday.
- Knowledge of document management and compliance with GDPR.
- Understanding of employee absence types and sickness absence requirements in both islands.
- Experience using Occupational Health providers and supporting wellbeing cases.
- Desirable: Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and programmes, communication with external regulatory authorities, and Mental Health First Aider training.
- Strong reporting and analytical skills, with an ability to handle pressure and manage conflicting demands.
- A professional and resourceful approach, capable of building rapport at all levels.
