The Honorary Veterinary Surgeon provides the Committee and wider organisation with expert professional veterinary advice to support the ethical, safe and effective delivery of the JSPCA’s charitable purpose. The role ensures that veterinary considerations, standards and responsibilities are understood, upheld and embedded within organisational decision‑making.
The scope of advice provided will depend on the individual’s Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) registration status. Veterinary Surgeons on the non‑practising register may not provide advice on diagnosis or treatment; however, they may still offer guidance on ethical, procedural and professional matters.
