Our client is seeking a Client Compliance Officer to join their Jersey office on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an office-based role for an experienced professional with a strong understanding of Jersey's regulatory requirements. Following successful completion of probation, you will be appointed as MLCO/MLRO for designated client entities, at which point a revised job description will be issued.
You will be responsible for ensuring client operations comply with the regulatory framework, acting as the key point of contact for compliance and client onboarding matters.
Job Duties- Act as the primary point of contact for employees on client onboarding and regulatory queries
- Monitor client operations and ensure regulatory and compliance risks are managed effectively
- Review and ensure consistent adherence to internal policies and procedures
- Recommend amendments to internal systems, policies and controls to maintain compliance
- Promptly address and remedy deficiencies in compliance arrangements
- Provide regular written compliance reports to the Board of Directors of each relevant client entity
- Act as the main contact with the regulator on day-to-day compliance matters
- Assist the Client MLCO in overseeing AML compliance efforts
- Monitor and test compliance with AML systems, controls, policies and procedures
- Report periodically to client boards on the effectiveness of compliance controls
- Respond promptly to information requests from the JFSC and JFCU
- In-depth knowledge of Jersey trust and company law, and the JFSC regulatory framework
- Experience in supervising staff where appropriate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to draft concise and informative reports and briefings for the Board
- Confidence to attend Board meetings and carry out assigned management duties
- Strong problem-solving and risk identification abilities
- Proven ability to ensure compliance with policies, legislation and regulatory requirements
- Solid understanding of AML procedures relevant to the role
- Commitment to keeping up to date with legal developments and industry best practice
